It's that time of the year Boo Boo. Pick-a-nick basket season. There's no time like that small two week window between rainy and cold and surface of the sun hot. Welcome to Texas ladies and gentleman. As a California native it's always been one of the greatest challenges of living in the Lone State. I do however love this time of year. It's a little slice of fantastic weather and a blast to spend with friends and family.
So here they are, some of my favorite metroplex activities before the baking, blistering, broiling, burning, fiery, hot, red-hot, roasting, scalding, scorching, sizzling, torrid, tropical summer begins.
Cocktails on the patio at Ozona--while you may occasionally have to wait 25 minutes for a coldie, the atmosphere more than makes up for hit or miss service. This patio is a true Dallas gem. Where else can you see a demographic ranging from neck tied business people to stumbling SMU students. Well, I guess you can see stumbling SMU students anywhere. www.ozonagrill.com- Cool Thursdays at the Arboretum--it doesn't get much better than this. A perfect evening for the family. Bring your favorite refreshments and some snacking items. Enjoy live music each week and watch the sun set over White Rock Lake. By the way, you can't beat this recipe for a perfect evening picnic.
- You're own backyard BBQ--this is up to you folks. I love bringing friends and family together, sharing a meal, and enjoying an evening outside. I'd encourage all of you to get together with some folks you love and remind them why you love them. Life's too short not to grill out with ones you love.
Well, these are just a couple of quick items. Dallas has so much to offer in the way of entertainment. Get out there and explore it, and explore it with someone you love.
